This past week has been a little overwhelming! First, I moved into my dorm and met my roommate, who by the way is almost, creepily, exactly like me. Then I went to the church I'll be attending while I'm here at Salem. I spent Mon. & Tues. going through the rest of orientation. And yesterday, we had our first day of classes. Now through all of this happening, God has really shown me how truly blessed I am.
My roommate, if I didn't know better, is practically my twin! We like all the same things and have very similar values. It was a huge relief. God provided me with a roommate that is making the transition into college not only easy, but a joy! My RA is from Medford, and as I found out, her sister who is rooming with her went to Cascade Christian and recognised me from sports! What a small world!
Another one of the blessings is my core group. We are all from Southern Oregon and half of us are education majors. All but two of us played sports in high school, and we all seemed to just "click" right away. My core group leader is the assistant A.D. of the school and helped get me on the softball team. Our TA is a senior on the softball team and has helped me with info. all ready!
God has truly blessed me with a college whose first objective is to help us to become confident and competent Christians that will be prepared after four years to go out into the world and be a salt and light.

My Last Days of Summer
As of today I have 11 days until I leave for Corban. I love my roommate and I think that we will get along just fine. My dorm has its own bathroom, so I don't have to share the shower with 17 other girls. God is good!!! These last few days I'll be trying to enjoy the rest of my summer. I'll post my new contact information when I get it :) My cell # is 541-761-3686 and my email is sarahconerd@yahoo.com. I also have a facebook account, so keep in touch!

Waiting...
I was supposed to meet with my Freshman Core Group leader last week, but it seems the Lord wants me to work on patience. First, someone in his family had a car accident, then his son went to the ER! Luckily, everyone involved is OK. Because of these incidents, he was supposed to come to So. Oregon at the beginning of this week. I had spent all weekend expecting a phone call on Sunday or Monday, but it hasn't come. I know that there is plenty of time, but I'm getting antsy. I only have about a month left until I leave for college, (a month and two days to be exact!) and I still do not know which dorm I will be in, who my roommate will be, or what my classes are! I'm the type of person who has to know everything! This not knowing is going to KILL ME!!! But I guess that I have to take a deep breath and count to ten. I'm sure that once it all starts to fall into place, the time will fly past.
